I am a voracious reader.  If I have any addictions it is to ice tea and really good books.  I am starting a little book shop where I will be listing books I have found useful, enjoyable, or really loved.  The reason for this is three fold.  I can keep track of books I love in one place, others might find some really great books to order or to check out from the library, and any extra affiliate cash from amazon can help to offset my book addiction.

Usually, when I find a book I really want to read I check the library first and in fact many of these books I have read have come from the library.  We love the library!!  It is free shopping and no hassle returns.

A Farmgirl Must Read

One of my top 5 favorite books is These is my Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901 (P.S.)  and believe me I have read alot of books in my time.

This is a great story of a woman who comes out to the Arizona Territory in 1881, and builds a ranch for herself.  My grandmother, lived in Gila Bend during the territorial days and so many of the stories that have been passed down from her are so similar to Sarah's. 

As a western woman from pioneer stock who is married to a Farmer who is also from pioneer stock - I just could not put this book down.  The sequels are every bit as good.  If you are an Arizonan you will love the accuracy of the setting.  If you are not an Arizonan this is a great way to visit the real Arizona that is quickly dying and being forgotten. 

I loved Sarah and I love this book.   She inspires me to be strong and courageous and to never give up.  To do the best I can with what I have and where I am.  As American women we need to revisit the pioneer strength that is in us all to, like Sarah, keep our nation great.
