Bonita Bean Bags

We make a special stop at the truck stop in Willcox, Arizona to get these great beans.  They are sweet and tender and really are the best.  Special stop means even at 2 a.m. after driving over twenty hours straight hauling cattle back from Oklahoma.  I really like the bags they come in too, and I knew I wanted to do something with them.  Hence, the Bonita Bean Bag...

I lined them with vintage heavy cotton tablecloths and red and white striped mattress ticking...

I have been using mine as an everyday purse and I feel it is very farmgirl chic as well as promoting Arizona Agriculture.  I promise I don't even know the owners of Bonita Beans but if I did I would beg for more empty bags.  Because while I love the beans that come in them, it takes  a lot of eatin' to make one tote.

If you want a great bag but don't want to sew it or eat 20 pounds of beans there is one in the shop.

I do have to tell you that the world's very best pinto beans come from Dove Creek, Colorado. I will send some to you fresh from the fields this fall when we havest.
